I have been wondering for sometime now why Jesus gave the parable of the Judge who refused for a while, to listen to the plea of a woman, for her vindication in a particular matter, because he could not be bothered. But later, after much asking and tenecity on the side of the woman he got so wearied as to be bothered to do something about it.
I used to wonder why that example. After all God is bothered about our prayers. I realised he Jesus, was using the unjust Judge's example as the opposite of God our Father and the most distant person whom one could ever plead with for vindication. He the Judge has nothing to gain from the woman and care not what her needs were.
Our Father in heaven loves us so much, he declared that his house should be called a house of prayer for all nations. Imagine that. He loves every one and had mandated himself that if we ask he will answer, If we seek, we will find, if we knock the doors will open. Notice the word, 'for all nations'. He also told Abraham that through his seed shall all nations be blessed. We begin to see here that God is interested in every nation on the planet and it pleases him to heap abundant blessing on all of them.
Notice also that Jesus Christ came to die for all men. Sometimes when we have been Christians for a while we get this twisted. We begin to think that Jesus only came to die for us. No. He came to die for all men.
This is the very same reason why he has not yet come back again. He is praying ceaselessly in Heaven that all men on earth would be saved. He has taken the desire of his Father to heart. We must remember what he said to his diciples when they inquired if he had eaten. He replied "My meat is to do the will of the Father and to finish his work". Part of this work was finished at the cross here on earth. The second part is still going on in heaven, where he ever lives to make intercession for us. Intercession for us, everyone who will be saved. His Father's Perfect will is this and always this "that all men will be saved". So Jesus has taken upon himself the High Priestly role of intercession on behalf of all men for their salvation and enternal life. He said, this is enternal life that they may Know you (God the Father) and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. He desires that His Father's wishes be fulfilled.
What about You, what is your meat? Is it like Jesus your head, to do the will of your Father and to finish his work? It ought to be. As he is, so are we in this world. The prayer of the saint makes much power available for the salvation of all men. Jesus believes that or he will not ask us to pray until something happens. He knows that the Father has decreed he will always answer such a prayer. He will do nothing until we pray, for his desire is to let us share in the experience of seeing a soul turned back to him. The joy of seeing another delivered from darkness and fear to life and peace. Oh what love is this!!!!.
I encourage you to take up your cross and follow your Lord into the inner chamber of prayer for all nations. Change will only come when we pray it into being. Stop talking, critisising, grumbling, pointing the finger and shaking your head in disgust. Non of this solves the problem but contributes to the problem. Become an investor in the Kingdom and partner with Christ in this Great work. If you pray, they will come. If you pray He (the Holy Spirit) will come. If tou pray It( Revival) is a guarantee.
I call you to pray until we see on earth the Father's Perfect desire, the salvation of all souls.
With man it looks impossible, but with God it is Guaranteed.
